Movie Skits is Crowdsourced Skit and Sketch Entertainment. We’re running this contest to encourage talented aspiring script writers to share their short form scripts for skits with the Movie Skits community of mobile filmmakers to use for their video skit productions.
Use the script editor in the Write Scripts section of our web site to Write, Save and Publish your script for a skit to the site. You can type in easy text based fountain markup and it will get formatted into standard Hollywood movie script format.
There are no script length limits at this time, but we recommend keeping your script to "skit length", such as up to three to five scenes, enough to make a one to five minute video skit from it using a small number of characters, since "skit makeabiltiy" is one of our judging criteria and more voters will get a chance to read your script if it is not too lengthy.
Scriptwriters who publish their written scripts for skits to Movie Skits are agreeing to allow the Movie Skits community to rate and comment on them, and to allow mobile filmmakers to use the scripts for their video skit productions, as long as they post their video skit creation back to Movie Skits next to the script and give the author credit.
Mobile filmmakers can use their own equipment or our soon to be released Movie Skits Director app to make a video from the scripts. So besides the chance to win prizes by entering this contest, as a result script writers may get to see their written script put to tape and up in lights, as well as get constructive feedback and build notoriety.
